Guest Contibutor: Jennifer B.

Jennifer Says:

Hmm. Not sure what to say except this was my favorite cafe in BHAM
during college and during my3 years living there after teaching. The cafe
shares a space with Fairhaven Bookstore so the fact that I could indulge
in two of my favorite pastimes was a plus...smelling coffee, molasses cookies,
and print (text) -a book lover knows the sweet aroma of books=a piece of heaven.

My favorite dishes included a garden salad with one of my favorite

all-time dressing fat-free italianartichoke dressing ( i think i ordered
the salad just for the dressing), Mexican corn and bean soup,
and molasses cookies the size of a small serving plate! :-)
Thank you so much Jennifer. That was perfect! We love getting other
people's favorite cafes!
You're the best!
Next time you're home, stop in and take a photo, we'd love to display it here.
Many Thanks
:-)

 Tea and Sympathy
Address: 108 Greenwich Avenue in the West Village
Tele: 212 989 9735
Hours: Monday - Friday 11:30am to 10:30 pm
Saturday and Sunday from 9:30am to 10:30 pm

This week's entry is brought to you from our wonderfully English contributor, Huck.

Huck says, "So Tea and Sympathy is the teeny tiny [8 tables ?]predecessor to A Salt and Battery on Greenwich Ave. in NY. Been there since mid 80s, owned and run by the fab Nikki-eccentric and brusque no nonsense brit gal.

They serve all the usual teatime stuff of course and also proper English food too-bangers n mash, shepherds pie, bubble n squeak, roast beef and yorkshire pud, etc etc. It,s ALWAYS packed out and quite the meeting spot in the village.

20,000 Secrets of Tea: The Most Effective Ways to Benefit from Nature's Healing Herbs
Since I don't have photos of Tea and Sympathy, I added this book.

Huck is a well-traveled Englishman who has spent quite a bit of time in NYC. As he can be found nearly every morning and every late afternoon in a coffee/tea shop enjoying his Earl Gray or Morning Breakfast tea. You would be correct in assuming that he knows a thing or two about cafes/coffee and tea houses."

Take a look at their website and their menu. It seems oh so fun. I know next time I'm in NYC, I will check it out and add tons of photos here.

Thanks again Huck, You're www.myfavoritecafe 's number one contributor.....thus far.

Cheers

Cafe 225, Visalia, CA

Name: Cafe 225
Address: 225 W Main St
Visalia, CA 93291-6244
(559) 733-2967

Website: http://www.cafe225.com
Guest Contributor: Becky

Guest Contributor Becky enjoys a great meal. Thanks Becky!

The town of Visalia is located just off Hwy 99, along Hwy 198 on the way to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park Fresno and Bakersfield). Downtown Visalia has received a lot of support from the community over the years, so it's a thriving fun place to go walk, shop and eat. Cafe 225 is a wonderful little restaurant just across the street from the historic Fox Theater (http://www.foxvisalia.org/).
If you're ever in the area and looking for something to do, you'd be hard pressed to find a better combination than dinner at Cafe 225 and a night at the theater. Our favorite place to sit and eat is at the bar, where you get great service and can watch people of all ages coming and going through the restaurant and on the street.
Thanks to Scott for giving me a chance to share this great spot!

Thank you Becky for this entry. If you check out the website, this looks like a really fun and quite upscale place. Check it out and let us know here at www.myfavoritecafes.com.

We'd love to get some pictures of you and your loved ones enjoying a meal at Cafe225.

Thanks again Becky!

10 Corso Como, Milan, Italy

Courtyard of 10Corso Como in Milan, Italy
Name: 10 Corso Como
Milan, Italy
Guest Contributor: Huck
Here's a pic of the cafe at 10 Corso Como in Milan. It's part of this terribly swish shop [called just 10 Corso Como] that sells ridiculously fashionable clothes and objects, owned by the sister of the editor in chief of Italian Vogue-and it's the best people watching spot.
The cobbled courtyard cafe is between the street and the entrance so everyone going in and out has to pass through it, so it's molto good theatre!
Cheers

Address: 141 Wavery Place, NY, NY 10014

Have you ever been to Joe's Coffee ? It was across from my salon in the West Village . Right on the corner of Gay St. and Waverly place . Amazing turn of the century storefront , great coffee's and Teas and great baked goods . Once or twice a week , Amy Sedaris would deliver her homemade cupcakes to sell . They were hysterical looking with little plastic ballet dancers or flamingo's on top . You know , the kind your mother would make when she was hung over for the school bake sale ! God I miss that place . Always good for Celeb. watching . . Sarah J, Parker , Chris Maloney , Phillip Seymour Hoffman , Naomi Campbell , Mathew Modine and his French Bull , De-caf ! Will try to get one of my co-workers to send me a picture ."
