Lucky Dog

Lucky Dog Ptown

293 Commercial St
Provincetown, MA 02657
(508) 487-3647
If you want amazing hot dogs, and I don't mean boring ol' hot dogs, then this is the place for you.
Check out Lucky Dog Ptown on your next visit to Provincetown.
It might take a little effort to find it, just look for the brighly colored Lucky Dog Ptown signs in town and they'll lead you right down a cute alley to the restaurant.
Stop in and enjoy.
Here is Aaron, the owner. A wonderful host, so friendly.

I know it looks odd, but this is amazing. It is a chocolate chip and bacon cookie with fresh sea salt on top. This is to DIE for! We kept going back for more, and more, and more!

Here is a whole platter of those amazing chocolate chip bacon sea salt cookies.

Waiting in line. See the smiles?

Check out the menu, this huge thing is on the menu. I dare anyone to eat it. Really.

Outdoor seating is available.

Geoff had the macaroni and cheese dog with bacon on top, of course, along with a chocolate chip bacon cookie.

I had the macaroni dog without the bacon. Yum.

Here we are standing outside the property and Aaron, the wonderful owner, is taking out pictures. Thanks Aaron.

Lulu in Palm Springs

What a great place to sit, drink, and enjoy people watching. Lulu's is located right on Palm Canyon Dr, the main street of downtown PS.
Great for people watching. If its nice weather they open one whole side of the restaurant to the street.
Hint: happy hour lasts all day at the large bar and surrounding bar tables. There is also a reduced price bar menu too.
Note: I don't prefer sitting on the upper level. It's just not conducive to people watching up there.
Let me know what you think.
Yay, Happy Hour is basically all day at the bar. And, what a generous bar it is.
Yup, that 's me!
Notice the Happy Hour time!
Did I mention Happy Hour?!
Pretty lights. PS: don't let them sit you upstairs. The ceiling is low and it just feels down right weird up there. Though, you can look down on other diners.
It's fun to look at the huge windows at the passersby on Palm Canyon Drive.
There always seems to be people in Lulu.
What a great place to meet people!

Influx Cafe
750  West Fir Street
San Diego, CA 92101
Located in Little Italy

People Watching Score: 9 out of 10

While visiting San Diego recently I was looking for a quick cafe to enjoy a cup of coffee and a muffin before going skydiving. Little Italy is one of my favorite neighborhoods in SD so of course I took a stroll.

Many of the eateries in Little Italy are a little too touristy for me; so I was happy to find Influx Cafe. It is just what you'd expect: a simple, clean, hopping cafe! And the muffins were great too!

The cafe is relatively small, but it has outdoor seating right on the sidewalk, and additional seating in a covered nook.

Its interior is spartan and bright, with a hint toward the mod.

Check it out.

Joe's Coffee and Cafe
170 Commercial Street
Provincetown, MA
508-487-6656
People Watching Score: 9 out of 10

If you're looking for the perfect people watching perch, then Joe's is the place to do it.

I can't say enough about Joe's Coffee and Cafe. First of all, what a great place to grab your second cup of coffee in Ptown on your way to the gym! Really. This past summer my morning routine was getting up super early, walking through town and grabbing my second cup of joe at Joe's. The town was so peaceful in the mornings.

You can arrive just as Joe's is opening and savor the rush of caffeine as other townspeople slowly open shops and walk their dogs.  I had some great conversations during those mornings. Warning: it can get very crowded in the late mornings and afternoons. So if you're like me and enjoy getting 'there' early and watching the crowd unfold before you, be warned.

Did I mention the bathroom? Well, I'm not a freak, but I do enjoy an attractive urinal every now and again. Joe's has one of the best urinals in town. Weird, huh? Understandably so, after drinking mega cups of coffee, one needs to use the bathroom. So now you know, Joe's can provide a charming urinal experience.

Treebones Yurts, Big Sur, CA

Treebones Resort
Big Sur, CA
71895 Hwy 1
Big Sur California 93920
treeboneslodge@yahoo.com
Telephone: 877-424-4787

View from Yurt patio.
OK, I just can't be impartial here. Geoff and I have been going to Big Sur, and Treebones for quite a few years now. It is one of our favorite places. This entry is more specifically about the restaurant than about the Yurts and the accommodations.
While staying at Treebones we make it a point to eat dinner in the round dining hall. It simply is amazing. You have a killer view of the ocean and setting sun as well as a wonderfully toasty fireplace snapping and crackling in the background.
I also enjoy being able to have their amazing dinners (which I haven't even  talked about yet) and shall I say one or two bottles of wine and then safely stumble back to our yurt.  An amazing dinner, setting and then a safe walk back 'home.'
View of the Pacific Ocean from the property.

So if you're in Big Sur, check out Treebones Resort and make sure you make a reservation for dinner. For those of you who like sushi, believe it or not, they have that too!
View of coastline, God I love Big Sur!
Really, trust me here, just go and check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Koffi
Palm Canyon Dr., Palm Springs, CA 92262

Enjoying a coffee at Koffi with friends.

Guest Contributor, Huck, enjoys his daily tea! Oh how British!

Check out Koffi, a wonderful place to enjoy coffee, tea, frozen drinks or even food. I enjoy their salads. They also have great pastries. Try their low fat raspberry muffins......so good.

They are located in the Corridor plaza. Once inside the plaza there is an amazing courtyard to sit and enjoy the unobstructed views of Mt. San Jacinto, a 10,000 foot tall mountain right in the heart of Palm Springs.

A very gay friendly spot for a drink. Also, it is gay owned. Stop by. I'll see you there.

Espresso Cielo, Palm Springs, CA

Espresso Cielo
Address: 245 South Palm Canyon #A-1
Palm Springs, CA 92262

Tele: 760-327-9050

Owner: Micheal and Michael

Hello There, I just returned from a wonderful visit to Palm Springs' newest cafe/coffee shop; Espresso Cielo. How wonderful on so many different levels. First of all, and most importantly...the owner and employees are great and so very inviting. We met the owner, named Michael . In addition to wonderful people, the coffee was terrific, served in, yes, too cute for words, blue cups and saucers...very oh so French...in my opinion.

We sat outside with a dear friend and talked for nearly an hour or so. We ran in to so many interesting people too. The patio overlooks Palm Canyon (the main street in town). So it was fun to watch people walk by.

Check it out. It has a wonderful atmosphere and like I said, the staff/employees are fabulous.

Enjoy
