Jacob's Restaurant-Soul Food & Salad Bar

Soul Food & Salad Bar
2695 Frederick Douglas Blvd.
Corner of 143rd Street
New York, NY 10030

Our dear friend Ryan introduced us to this wonderful gem in the heart of Harlem.

If you're looking for an amazingly filling, satisfying, and just down right yummy experience you've got to try it.

I suggest not eating for two or three days ahead of time, so you can fill up on calories. There's just so many choices.

Say Hi to Bill Clinton or Barack Obama if they happen to be there. You will definitely see Ryan if you go there.

Yup, free WiFi! What's not to love!? Look at those satisfied customers with full, happy bellies.

OK, just a serious pict!
You fill up your container (not very earth friendly, but.......) and then take it to the register, where you pay next to nothing for this amazing, great, soul food!

I just like this note in the bathroom.

Yup. Soul Train really is on the televisions in the back room. No really. Fun!

I'm VERY happy. I'm a very quick eater, and I swear I ate everything on my plate in record speed. It's no wonder I didn't choke and die! But hey, what a way to go!

You walk in, grab a container and go to town. I think there are three self-serve areas to choose from. Oh My God!

Outdoor shot as you enter, just in case you're walking around Harlem and you run into it. GO IN!

Ryan just had to instagram his photo. But yup, that's our friend and guide for the day. Yum-O! Thanks so much for introducing us to this gem. And damn, look at that smile!

Lenny and Joe's Fish Tale

Lenny and Joe's Fish Tale
Rt 1, Westbrook, CT
(NOTE: only the one located in Westbrook serves alcohol. For those of you who care to enjoy)

It's a given that whenever we visit CT we MUST go to Lenny and Joe's for a buttered lobster role. Have you tried one? This place is crazy busy during the summer months.  Plan ahead.

I always like to pick up some taffy. Usually my father will kill for this stuff.  So, here's an early birthday gift dad.

You gotta have at least one bloody mary with your lobster roll.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the little neck steamers (which, ok, aren't my favorite, but hey, when in Rome!)

Yay! Lobster Rolls! This is my reason for coming nearly three thousand miles! I seriously can't eat them slowly. I limit myself to one lobster roll, but I so could eat two or three in one setting. Damn, I hate getting older, and I hate a slower metabolism even more!

Instead of slaw, you can get fried zucchini. Um, yes!

The Stage Stop, Rollinsville, CO

Address: This one is a difficult one to give an address. Basically, this funky eatery is located between Blackhawk and Nederland. If you're driving the Peak to Peak Highway you'll run into big red building.

Here are some picts:
OK, how often do you see stickers inside a urinal? I guess I just loved the bright blue wall and the crisp white urinal punctuated by the colorful stickers.

Here is the outside of the building. You can't miss the big red edifice.
YUM, Beer, Beer, Beer!

A great place to go for live music. I prefer my music live, as  opposed to dead!

I think the owner of the property is an artist, so pick up a fun, unique t-shirt. If I weren't so cheap, I'd have purchased one, or two, or three.

It was quiet during the day when we were there. I imagine this place is hopping at night.

I love a big, sexy, wooden bar! Who doesn't?

Lucky Dog

Lucky Dog Ptown

293 Commercial St
Provincetown, MA 02657
(508) 487-3647
If you want amazing hot dogs, and I don't mean boring ol' hot dogs, then this is the place for you.
Check out Lucky Dog Ptown on your next visit to Provincetown.
It might take a little effort to find it, just look for the brighly colored Lucky Dog Ptown signs in town and they'll lead you right down a cute alley to the restaurant.
Stop in and enjoy.
Here is Aaron, the owner. A wonderful host, so friendly.

I know it looks odd, but this is amazing. It is a chocolate chip and bacon cookie with fresh sea salt on top. This is to DIE for! We kept going back for more, and more, and more!

Here is a whole platter of those amazing chocolate chip bacon sea salt cookies.

Waiting in line. See the smiles?

Check out the menu, this huge thing is on the menu. I dare anyone to eat it. Really.

Outdoor seating is available.

Geoff had the macaroni and cheese dog with bacon on top, of course, along with a chocolate chip bacon cookie.

I had the macaroni dog without the bacon. Yum.

Here we are standing outside the property and Aaron, the wonderful owner, is taking out pictures. Thanks Aaron.

Lulu in Palm Springs

What a great place to sit, drink, and enjoy people watching. Lulu's is located right on Palm Canyon Dr, the main street of downtown PS.
Great for people watching. If its nice weather they open one whole side of the restaurant to the street.
Hint: happy hour lasts all day at the large bar and surrounding bar tables. There is also a reduced price bar menu too.
Note: I don't prefer sitting on the upper level. It's just not conducive to people watching up there.
Let me know what you think.
Yay, Happy Hour is basically all day at the bar. And, what a generous bar it is.
Yup, that 's me!
Notice the Happy Hour time!
Did I mention Happy Hour?!
Pretty lights. PS: don't let them sit you upstairs. The ceiling is low and it just feels down right weird up there. Though, you can look down on other diners.
It's fun to look at the huge windows at the passersby on Palm Canyon Drive.
There always seems to be people in Lulu.
What a great place to meet people!
